William C. 'Bill' Hilliard
William C. “Bill” Hilliard, 93, of Connoquenessing passed away Wednesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
He was born May 25, 1919, in Harmony to the late William F. Hilliard and Alda Stouffer Hilliard.
Mr. Hilliard worked in the Open Hearth Melt Shop at Butler Armco, retiring in February 1982. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in World War II in the Philippines.
He was a member of the NRA. Mr. Hilliard enjoyed golfing, bowling, hunting and fishing, and also being a Pirates fan, but most of all he enjoyed spending time with his family and grandchildren. He was a member of the Connoquenessing United Methodist Church.
Mr. Hilliard is survived by his wife, Betty Marie (Greenawalt) Hilliard, who he married on April 17, 1939; two sons, William J. Hilliard and his wife, Cathy, of Grandy, N.C., and Robert L. Hilliard and his wife, Mary Ann Hilliard, of Renfrew; one daughter, Dawna Kay Faull of Butler; many grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Harold L. Hilliard of Connoquenessing; two sisters, Jean Rearick and her husband, John, of Connoquenessing and Bonnie Boyer and her husband, Dan, of Ohio; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one son, Larry E. Hilliard.
HILLIARD — Friends of William C. “Bill” Hilliard, who passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9, 2013, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Connoquenessing United Methodist Church, 206 Main St., Connoquenessing, with Pastor Walter Hehman officiating.
