Larry C. Campbell

Campbell

Larry C. Campbell, of Level Green, Pa., passed away on June 28, 2022.

He was born on May 17, 1937, and was the son of the late John A. and Jessie Morgan Campbell.

He was a member of the Slippery Rock High School Class of 1955, where he established lifelong friendships, and met his high school sweetheart, V. Jean (Miller) Campbell. They were married March 6, 1959.

A graduate of Slippery Rock University and Indiana University of Pennsylvania, Larry had a career at Gateway High School as a biology teacher and then later, a school counselor.

He was smart and witty and had a sharp sense of humor. He liked to make people laugh and always had a good joke to share. One not to mince words, Larry told things like they were. He enjoyed nature, gardening, golfing, fishing, woodworking and fixing broken objects.

He was a member of Masonic Lodge 603 in Grove City, and Pittsburgh Syria Shriners for more than 50 years. Larry never gave up on life, didn’t complain, and was forever grateful to be the recipient of a transplanted kidney 39½ years ago.

Larry is survived by his wife, Jeanne; his daughter, Mimi Campbell (Howard Haynie); his niece, Dr. Dreamalee Lamberti; and his sisters-in-law, Donna (Alvin) Vogel and Carol Miller (Gary Glenn).

He was preceded in death by his son, Dr. Mark L. Campbell, who passed away June 7, 2020.
