Butler High graduate and James Madison University women's soccer player Annie Lowry was selected as the Brine Colonial Athletic Association Player of the Week.Lowry, a junior forward, scored three goals on four shots in JM's 3-1 win over Virginia Commonwealth Friday.Lowry is tied for 10th place on the Dukes' all-time goals scored list with 19 and is 12th on the points list with 47.
Candice Jenkins, a Knoch graduate and junior midfielder for the LaRoche College women's soccer team, was named Allegheny Mountain Collegiate Conference Player of the Week.Jenkins scored the game-winning goal in an overtime win over Lake Erie (Ohio) College.
Brett Rinker, 11, of Slippery Rock took second place in his age group with rounds of 83 and 75 at the Plantations Junior Golf event, held last weekend in Lexington, Ky.
