Margaret J. “Margie” Auer Nist
Margaret J. “Margie” Auer Nist, 82, of Greensburg passed away Tuesday at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital.
Born Nov. 8, 1933, in Pittsburgh, she was a daughter of the late Wendell F. Lamm and Frieda Lamm Bauman.
Margie was a devout Christian, who was a member of St. Vincent Basilica. She was a retired cook from the Vincentian Motherhouse, Pittsburgh, for 20 years. Because she was bored with retirement, she worked in the cafeteria for the Seneca Valley School District.
There wasn't a person who met Margie who didn't become her friend. She loved spending time with family and friends and especially enjoyed dancing, bowling, and going out to lunch with her girlfriends. Margie was full of life and nicknamed “Sparky” by her grandchildren for that reason.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, William G. Auer; her second husband, John “Jack” J. Nist; her great-niece, Shannon Duffy; and her great-nephew, Lee Daniel Boss.
Margie is survived by two daughters, Margie Fierst of Pittsburgh and Barbara Callahan and her husband, Ed, of Greensburg; one brother, Charles Bauman, of Pittsburgh; one sister, Frieda Boss of Wexford; four grandchildren, Gerrid Fierst and Lia, Elizabeth and Christopher Callahan; one great-grandson, Gerrid Fierst Jr.; two nieces, Maggie Joyce and Gloria Duffy; two nephews, Lee Boss and Danny Boss; many great-nieces and great-nephews and friends; and her faithful canine companion, Lexi.
