Clifford A. Gallagher, 85, of Renfrew went home to be with Jesus at 5:40 p.m. Saturday at the VA Butler Healthcare.

Mr. Gallagher was born in Butler, April 9, 1925, to the late Alvin J. and Helen E. (Snyder) Gallagher.

Mr. Gallagher retired from Pullman Standard.

He was a U.S. Army veteran, having served in the European theater during World War II.

He was a member of the Community Alliance Church and was a lifetime member of the VFW Post 249, Butler.

He also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, fishing and playing pool.

Mr. Gallagher is survived by his loving wife, Jane K. (Miller) Gallagher, who he married June 8, 1955. He also is survived by two sons, Clifford A. (Julie) Gallagher Jr. of Grand Blanc, Mich., and Kevin L. Gallagher of Renfrew; two daughters, Phyllis Bentley of Butler and Nancy (Eric) Bogan also of Butler; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Gallagher was preceded in death by an infant son, and two brothers, Donald and Bernard Gallagher.

<B>GALLAGHER</B> — Friends of Clifford A. Gallagher, who died Saturday, June 26, 2010, will be received from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday at the <B>Thompson-Miller Funeral Home</B>, 124 E. North St., Butler. The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the Community Alliance Church with Pastor Dennis L. Krajacic officiating. Interment will be at the National Cemetery of the Alleghenies in Bridgeville.In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Community Alliance Church Library Fund, 800 Mercer Road, Butler, PA 16001.Information and a private guest book are available at www.thompson-miller.com.
