'White Christmas'
KARNS CITY — The Karns City High School Drama Club will present the musical “White Christmas” at 7:30 p.m. March 1, 2 and 3 and at 2 p.m. March 3 in the Karns City High School auditorium, 1446 Kittanning Pike.
All seats are reserved and are $8 at the door.
Based on the beloved film, this musical adaptation features 17 Irving Berlin songs and a book by David Ives and Paul Blake.
The score features well-known standards including “Blue Skies,” “I Love A Piano,” “How Deep Is the Ocean?” and the perennial favorite, “White Christmas.”
In the musical, veterans Bob Wallace and Phil Davis have a successful song-and-dance act after World War II. With romance in mind, the two follow a duo of beautiful singing sisters en route to their Christmas show at a Vermont lodge, which just happens to be owned by Bob and Phil's former army commander.
The show is being directed and produced by Beth Ackelson. Dorinda Aigner is director of music and Robert Snodgrass Jr. is choreographer. Ernie Taylor is set designer, Judy Oshlick is costume coordinator and Amy Parker, Mary Jane Double and Patrick Parker are in charge of lighting. Davy Whitmire is in charge of sound. Judy Oshlick and Sara Ellenberger are assistants to the director.
