Robert Lee Menchyk
Robert Lee Menchyk, 60, of Elizabeth, Allegheny County, passed away on Wednesday in the Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
He was born on June 26, 1951, in Butler, the son of Thelma Miller Menchyk and the late Tony C. Menchyk.
He was a member of the Calvin United Presbyterian Church of Brownsville, Pa., where he was an active ruling elder.
He was very devoted and attentive to his wife's needs, especially after her eye surgery. He enjoyed gardening, history, animals, gospel and bluegrass music.
He retired from Mayview State Hospital with 24 years of service, and he also worked for TSI.
Besides his mother, he is survived by his wife, the Rev. Aleda Arnold Menchyk; his son, Sam Menchyk and his wife, Jane, of Pittsburgh; his brothers, Thomas Menchyk and his wife, Linda, of Butler, James Menchyk and his wife, Jean, of Butler and William Menchyk and Judy Johnston of Butler; his sister, Edith Menchyk and James Mott of Lewis, Del.; three nephews, Matthew, Michael and Nicholas Menchyk; and other relatives and friends.
He was predeceased by an infant daughter, Sarah.
