Mary Jane Uber Beatty, 86, of Liberty Township, Grove City, passed away at 10:45 p.m. Wednesday at VNA Inpatient Hospice, Butler, following an extended illness.

Born on Oct. 7, 1926, in Wilkinsburg, Pa., she was the daughter of Milo N. Uber and Blanche E. Miller Uber.

She was homemaker and raised her children.

She was a Presbyterian.

She was a graduate of Turtle Creek High School, Class of 1945. Following high school, she worked at the Westinghouse plant during World War II, and then later attended Grove City College. She enjoyed ballroom dancing, reading, and God forbid if you called her during “Masterpiece Theater” on TV.

She is survived by three children, Russell Beatty and his wife, Mary E., of Grove City, Robert Beatty and his wife, Beth, of Grove City and Melodie Esposito and her husband, Eddy, of Grove City; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. One sister, Blanche Joy Hansen of Plymouth, Mich.; and one brother, Milo Charles “Bud” Uber and his wife, Nancy, of Martinsburg, Pa., also survive.

She was preceded in death by her parents and one daughter, Bonnie Jean Winder in 1980.

BEATTY — Visitation hours for Mary Jane Uber Beatty, who passed away Wednesday, July 3, 2013, will be at the Cunningham Funeral Home, 306 Bessemer Ave., Grove City from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday.

A funeral service will be at the East Main Presbyterian Church, 120 E. Main St., Grove City, at 10 a.m. Monday, with the Rev. Bill Hoffman officiating. Burial will be at the Old Presbyterian Cemetery, Grove City.

Memorial tributes may be made in Mary Jane’s memory to the VNA Inpatient Hospice, 115 Technology Drive, Butler, PA 16127
