Martha Ann Allen
Martha Ann Allen, 86, of Butler passed away Sunday at VNA Inpatient Hospice in Butler.
Born in Butler May 19, 1931, she was a daughter of the late Claude L. and Ella Rodgers Rivers Sr.
She was a homemaker and a member of St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church.
Ann was a member of the Legion of Mary. She was a former member of Catholic Daughters of America Drum and Bugle Corps.
She is survived by four children, Barbara Somero and her husband, John, of Hayes, Va., Debra Stewart and her husband, John, of Hatboro, Pa., Julie Cupps and her husband, Rick, of Butler, and Richard Allen Jr. and his wife, Kathy, of Butler; and one sister, Louise Emmett of Butler.
Also surviving are 11 grandchildren, Michelle Steighner and her husband, Ron, Lisa Strouse and her wife, Melanie, Michael Allen and his wife, Karly, Ryan Somero and his wife, Audrey, Allison Connors and her husband, Andrew, Megan Allen, Mandy Cupps, Missy Cupps and her fiancé, Victor Ray, Lexie Cupps, Devin Cupps, and Tori Cupps; eight great-grandchildren, John Paul Tomlin, Sara Schweiger, Zach Boyle, Anna Strouse, Madelyn Myhre, Jefferson Connors, Noah Allen and Harrison Connors; and her loving and caring caregivers, Joni Metz, Carol Shope and Ann's granddaughter, Mandy Cupps. In addition, Ann is survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Richard L. “Dick” Allen Sr., who passed away Sept. 24, 2007; nine brothers; and three sisters.
ALLEN — Friends of Martha Ann Allen, who died Sunday, April 1, 2018, will be received from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Martin Funeral Home, 429 Center Ave., Butler.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Thursday from St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N.
