Catherine A. (Baldinger) Wolford, 82, of Zelienople and a longtime resident of Cranberry Township passed away Thursday surrounded by her loving family at the Creek Meadows Senior Guest Haus in Franklin Township.

Born April 5, 1931, in Bellevue, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Dorothy (Meyer) Baldinger.

Catherine was a longtime devoted member of St. Ferdinand Catholic Church in Cranberry Township.

In more recent years, she retired as a secretary from Weber Insurance in Cranberry Township. She also worked as the store manager for Barkus Bakery in Wexford and was a custodian at Haine Middle School in Cranberry Township.

Catherine was an avid bowler who belonged to numerous leagues throughout Cranberry Township and Mars. During her free time, she loved to crochet and crafted many blankets for her cherished family members over the years. Catherine adored flowers, especially her beloved roses that she planted and nurtured for over 60 years. Caregiver to all, she was warmly referred to as grandma by her entire family. Above all, she treasured the time she spent with her family who brought her abundant joy.

She leaves behind to cherish her memory her seven loving children, Edward (Elaine) Wolford of Zelienople, Patricia (Frank) Mazur of Harmony, Judy Anderson of Hershey, James (Janet) Wolford of Connoquenessing, Jack (Tracey) Wolford of Butler, Robert (Betsy) Wolford of Cranberry Township and Charles Wolford of Cranberry Township; her 14 grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 56 years, Norman B. Wolford, who she married on April 28, 1951, and who passed away on Feb. 25, 2008; her son-in-law, Mark Anderson; and 10 brothers and sisters.

WOLFORD — The family of Catherine A. (Baldinger) Wolford, who died Thursday, Oct. 24, 2013, will welcome friends from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday at the GLENN-KILDOO FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 130 Wisconsin Ave., Cranberry Township.A Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Ferdinand Catholic Church, 2535 Rochester Road, Cranberry Township, with the Rev. Don Wolford, celebrant. Friends, please meet at the church.She will be laid to rest at Pinewood Memorial Gardens in Cranberry Township.If desired, memorial contributions may be made in her honor in support of Creek Meadows Senior Guest Haus, 1630 Ellwood City Road, Zelienople, PA 16063.Expressions of sympathy may be shared with the Wolford family at www.glennkildoofuneralhome.com.
