CONNOQUENESSING TWP — The 21st annual Cruise-A-Palooza on Sunday will have a new location and a variety of new attractions.

The Rodfathers Motorsports Club will host its annual car show at the Butler Farm Show grounds this Sunday, marking the first time the event has moved from downtown Butler.

Dan Cunningham, an organizer with the club, said the extra space at the farm show grounds has allowed for more than just classic cars to highlight the event.

“There will be a lot going on,” Cunningham said. “It’s much bigger because we have a lot more space now. We’ll have things we never could have had downtown.”

Among the different attractions will be demonstrations by the Pittsburgh bomb squad and fire departments, fireworks, a monster truck, two live bands and a country music talent show that is part of a nationwide contest.

The car show also will feature multiple new automobile-related attractions, including workshops and a parts market.

“There will be parts available for older vehicles,” Cunningham said. “We never had room for that before.”

There will be 75 to 100 vendors at the event which will run from 10 a.m. to dusk.

Cunningham said the cruise in the past has drawn 1,500 to 2,000 cars and more than 15,000 spectators.

He said attendance is heavily influenced by weather.

“Some people won’t come out if there is any rain at all,” he said.

Cunningham said he has been checking the weekend forecast as the county has experienced rainy weather for a couple weeks.

“There are conflicting predictions,” he said. “But it looks like Sunday should be a decent day.”

While this marks the first time this event will be at the farm show grounds, the group has had other shows at the site in the past.

“We’ve had a couple Fall Extravaganzas there,” Cunningham said, adding those have been successful.

The Rodfathers host multiple car shows throughout the year, but the Cruise-A-Palooza is the group’s signature event.

Cunningham said the show was ranked the third best cruise on the East Coast by Cruisin’ Times magazine.

“We have a good draw in the Mid-Atlantic region,” he said.
