Hunter courses set for April
Two Pennsylvania Game Commission Hunter-Trapper Education Courses will be held during April in Butler County. One will be a traditional classroom course while the other is an independent study course.
All first-time hunters, except youths participating in mentored hunts, must complete the course before they can buy a hunting license.
The 10-hour classroom training courses, offered at no cost to the public, who must attend all sessions scheduled at one location, are open to participants who will be at least 11 years old on the last day of a selected course.
An independent study option, requiring eight to 10 hours of study online or using a printed manual, followed by a two-hour test, also is available.
