Iola Mary Lewandowski, 80, formerly of Slippery Rock, passed away in Butler on Thursday, June 23, 2022.

She was born on Oct. 21, 1941, to Charles Peter Shuler and Catherine Elizabeth Graham Shuler.

She graduated from Butler High School in 1959.

Before her marriage, she worked at W.T. Grant Company and Saxonburg Ceramics.

A Catholic and member of St. Faustina Parish (St. Peter Church) in Slippery Rock since 1969, she had been active in Christian Mothers.

She enjoyed baking, cooking, quilting and spending time with family.

Iola married William Joseph Lewandowski on Nov. 7, 1964, and he preceded her in death on July 29, 2014.

She is survived by two sons, William J. (Robin) Lewandowski Jr. of Olivia, N.C., and Roy C. Lewandowski of Fenelton; three daughters, Cynthia R. (William) Freese of Glendale, Ariz., Brenda D. Neuman of Pensacola, Fla., and Stella M. (Steve) Timko of Sarver; 10 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and her nieces and nephews.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Theresa A. Lewandowski; and her sisters, Pearl C. Thomas and Elma E. Snyder.

LEWANDOWSKI — The family of Iola Mary Lewandowski, who died Thursday, June 23, 2022, will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at SMITH FUNERAL HOME, 421 New Castle St., Slippery Rock.

A funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at St. Faustina Parish, St. Peter Church, 670 S. Main St., Slippery Rock.

Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery, Coylesville, Fenelton.

Memorial contributions may be given to Pennsylvania Pro-Life Federation, 4800 Jonestown Road, Harrisburg, PA 17109, or The St. Vincent de Paul Society, 146 N. Monroe St., Butler, PA 16001.
