A public volunteer training session for the Community Health Clinic of Butler County will be held at 7 p.m. today at the Butler Public Library on North McKean Street.

FORWARD TWP — Connoquenessing Borough and Connoquenessing and Forward township residents are invited to take refuse and recyclable materials to a cleanup and recycling day from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday at the Forward Township Building, 207 Ash Stop Road, Evans City.Hazardous wastes will not be accepted and some fees will apply.For information, call 724-789-9097.

HARMONY — A mother-daughter tea to benefit juvenile diabetes research is set for 2 p.m. Saturday at the Bottle Brush Art Gallery, 539 Main St.Those attending can receive a free photograph of themselves and their guest.The event will be hosted by Linda Schoettker of Connoquenessing and Brandie Birckbichler of Clearfield Township, whose child has the disease.Proceeds will benefit the Diabetes Research Foundation. LYNDORA — The Butler County Philatelic Society will sponsor the 63rd Butlerpex stamp exhibition and bourse, or stamp sale, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Friday and from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Tanglewood Senior center, 10 Austin Ave.The event will include numerous dealers, a show cachet and cancel, a young people's table, snack bar and a table auction.

PENN TWP — The Penn State Master Gardeners of Butler County will host its annual spring garden market from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday at the Succop Conservancy, 185 W. Airport Road.Featured will be a variety of local nurseries, crafters and food vendors as well as the Master Gardeners plant sale and silent auction.Planting and growing vegetables in all types of spaces from containers to large gardens will be the theme of this year's speakers. Main St., has volunteer openings in several departments.• Rehab services: Escort and assist wheelchair residents to and from appointments weekday mornings.• Nursing: Meal assistants to help residents select times from menu, assist with cutting meats and opening packets during breakfast and lunch.
