John N. “Jack” Minich

John N. “Jack” Minich, 82, of Butler passed away Sunday at Good Samaritan Hospice at Concordia.

He was born Jan. 18, 1935, in Butler to the late John D. Minich and the late Ruth Moore.

Jack worked for Armco Steel for 44 years in the boiler house, retiring in 1999. He was a deacon and elder at Hill United Presbyterian Church. In the U.S. Army, Jack served as a SP4 in Seoul, Korea. He enjoyed hunting and fishing with his sons and grandsons.

Jack is survived by his wife Lois who he married Dec. 19, 1959; two sons, John S. (Michele) Minich of Elm Grove, Wis. and David Minich of Franklin, Pa.; one daughter, Elaine (Ben) Lipsman of West Chester, Pa.; five grandchildren, Joe (Liz) Minich, Nick Minich, Eli Lipsman, Anna Lipsman and Leah Lipsman; one great-granddaughter, Ayla Minich; one brother, William (Phyllis) Minich of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one sister, Joanne Fogel, and her husband Ken.

MINICH — Friends of John N. “Jack” Minich, who died Sunday, Sept. 17, 2017, will be received from 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. James Steiner, officiating.Private burial will take place in Greenlawn Burial Estates.In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Good Samaritan Hospice, 134 Marwood Road, Cabot, PA 16023.Online condolences can be given at www.thompson-miller.com.
