Edward D. Lucas Jr.
Edward D. Lucas Jr., 53, of Butler died unexpectedly Friday at his home.
Born Oct. 15, 1963, in Butler, he was a son of the late Edward D. “Dewey” Lucas Sr. and Mary Louise Chuba Lucas.
Ed graduated from Butler High School in 1981 and from Westminster College in 1985, where he also played football.
He was a member of St. Paul Roman Catholic Church in Butler, enjoyed trains and the outdoors, was a Pittsburgh sports fan and had collected sports memorabilia. He was the primary caretaker for his parents during their illnesses and provided great care for them.
Surviving are his brothers, Kenneth D. (Roni) Lucas of Butler and Patrick D. (Tracey) Lucas of Walkersville, Md.; two nieces, Cassidy (Zachary) Cratty and Natalie Lucas; one nephew, Christopher Lucas; and a number of aunts, uncles and cousins.
LUCAS — Friends of Edward D. Lucas Jr., who died Friday, Sept. 8, 2017, will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St., Butler.
A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. Wednesday at St. Paul Roman Catholic Church, 128 N. McKean St., Butler. The Rev. Harry Bielewicz will officiate. Interment will be at the Calvary Cemetery in Butler.
