Edward Bobyak

Edward M. Bobyak, 81, of Greensburg, died unexpectedly on Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021.

Born in Dunbar, Pa., he was a son of the late Michael and Marie Popson Bobyak.

Edward was a veteran of the United States Army National Guard. He was member of the Slovak Hall of Connellsville, Pa., a member in both local and international facilities management organizations, as well as being a member of AMVETS.Prior to his retirement, he was a dedicated, long-term employee of West Penn Power Allegheny Energy for 42 years, where he worked his way up from a meter reader to a divisional manager.Edward most loved spending time with his family, sharing with them his love of camping, bicycling, listening to polka music and spending the winter in Richmond, Va., with his daughter.He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Margaret (Peggy) Kurka Bobyak, and was the proud father of two daughters, Marla Bobyak Frailey and her husband, the Rev. Mark Frailey, of Mercer, and Tracey Bobyak Kroll and her husband, Chad Kroll, of Richmond, Va.; a sister, Carol Bobyak Graham of Greensburg; a brother, Kevin Bobyak of Monongahela, Pa.; a nephew, Michael Graham, and wife, Stacy; and great-nieces, Avery and Harper of Pittsburgh.In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a brother, Lawrence Bobyak.Bobyak — There will be no public visitation or service for Edward M. Bobyak, who died Saturday, Jan. 16, 2021.Private interment will be in Greensburg Catholic Cemetery, Westmoreland County.In lieu of flowers, a mass or donation may be given in his memory to the Blessed Sacrament Cathedral Parish, 300 N.
