Slippery Rock Borough approved paving 9 roads
Slippery Rock Borough Council unanimously accepted a paving bid for nine local roads at a Tuesday night meeting.
The borough will pay Shields Asphalt Paving more than $116,800 for the project.
According to Shawn Pugh, borough manager, the paving is slated to start as soon as possible.
“Our streets (department) is going to do storm maintenance and work in conjunction with the paving so it all gets done and we work together,” he said.
Willow Drive, Evergreen Court, Maple Street Extension, Seldom Seen Lane, Old Forge Road, Arbor Trail, Jefferson Court, Hockenberry Drive and Legion Alley were placed out for the paving bid following the April meeting.
The borough also approved to advertise for a new solicitation ordinance, which will be voted on at the July 12 meeting, Pugh said.
“It has to be approved yet, but we would have a ‘do not knock’ list. Residents can get on a list and solicitors will not be able to knock on your door,” he said.
The next borough workshop meeting is at 7 p.m. July 5.
