Rev. Howard Foust
The Rev. Howard F. Foust, 65, of Jackson Township, Cambria County, formerly of West Deer Township, Allegheny County, passed away peacefully on Sunday surrounded by his family.
He was born July 11, 1947, at Allegheny Valley Hospital, Natrona Heights, Harrison Township, grew up in Curtisville and Sarver and graduated from Knoch High School.
Howard worked locally in the steel mill and also at Shop-n-Save as the produce manager for many years.
While he lived locally, Howard attended the Deer Lakes Community Church of the Nazarene, where he served five years as a lay minister. His love of his church, and with the encouragement of his pastor, Howard went back to school, obtained his bachelors degree and became a minister.
He was assigned and joined the Uniontown Church of the Nazarene as pastor, serving it for more than 10 years. He retired last year and settled in Jackson Township, Cambria County, where he has lived this past year.
His passions were visiting the sick at the various hospitals, bringing them comfort through prayer, helping folks in need and playing the drums.
Survivors include his wife of 15 years, Kathryn M. (Thornton) Foust; his children, Thomas C. Foust of Anchorage, Alaska, Gerrie R. (Mark) Wagner of West View and Paul S. Kenny of Indianland, S.C.; grandchildren, Cierra, Isabella, Creighton, Bryant, Daniel and Killian; his sisters Cheryl (Wayne) Griffith of Bentleyville and Patty (Malcolm) Lipscomb of Butler; and brothers-in-law, William (Marcia) Thornton, Ed (Donna) Thornton and Ronnie Thornton.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles Foust and Mary Katherine (Smith) Foust.
FOUST — The family of the Rev. Howard F.
