Jean McKillop Hunter
Jean McKillop Hunter, 90, of Lower Burrell died Wednesday in Good Samaritan Hospice, Cabot.
She was born in Wishaw on Dec. 26, 1924. She came to this area when she was 1½ years old and lived in Lower Burrell since 1956. She attended Arnold High School and graduated in 1942.
Miss Hunter was employed at ALCOA Research Laboratories for 40 years, until she retired in 1983. During her employment she was secretary to the director of research.
She was a member of Grace Presbyterian Church, Lower Burrell, where she served as an elder; ALCOA Twenty-Five Year Club; Animal Protectors of Allegheny Valley and Animal Friends, Pittsburgh; and River Forest Country Club.
She loved animals, especially cats, and enjoyed golfing, flower gardening, watching and feeding the birds, reading, her church and watching the Penguins, Steelers and golf.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Cornelius and Mary McKillop Hunter; her brothers and sisters, Robert B. Hunter, Margaret Shockley, Anne Ferguson and infant brother John; and her cat Daisy.
HUNTER — Friends of Jean McKillop Hunter, who died Wednesday, April 1, 2015, will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at the RUSIEWICZ OF LOWER BURRELL FUNERAL HOME, 3124 Leechburg Road at Alder Street, Lower Burrell, where funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Tuesday by the Rev. Kenneth Foust.
