Work will begin this evening on Route 19 in Zelienople and Jackson Township, announced the state Department of Transportation today.

Beginning at 6 p.m., single lane closures will be in place on Route 19 between Culvert Street and the Zelienople Bridge over Connoquenessing Creek for a preventive maintenance project. Flagger controlled, alternating traffic will be in place from between 6 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday through Friday.

Work will include milling, patching, and paving the road as well as updating pavement markings and signs.

This $452,761 road preservation project is being done by A. Folino Construction of Oakmont and is expected to be completed before the end of September.
