Donna M. Stewart
Donna M. Stewart, 81, of Butler passed away Tuesday at the VNA Inpatient Hospice.
She was born May 11, 1935, in Butler, to the late Melvin P. Rex and Mildred Morger Rex-Kuhns.
She was married for 60 years to the love of her life, Robert H. Stewart. She graduated from Butler High School in 1953 and married Bob on June 16, 1956. Mrs. Stewart worked at Nationwide Insurance Co. as a paralegal administrative secretary for 41 years, retiring in November of 1994.
She was a member of the Christ Outreach Church. Mrs. Stewart was a member of the Moose, VFW and the American Legion. She enjoyed square dancing for almost 40 years, reading, camping, bicycling and traveling. Mrs. Stewart spent 20 winters in Florida.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by one brother, Melvin D. Rex and his wife, Carolyn, of Pittsburgh; two stepsisters, Geraldine St. Clair of Portersville and Virginia Haley of Bakersfield, Calif.; one half-sister, Jacqueline Vento, and her husband, John, of Tampa, Fla.; and very special nieces and nephews who she treated as her own children.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Edward Kuhns; her stepmother, Alma Rex; her grandparents; and two sisters, Shirley Douthett and Beverly Rex.
STEWART — Friends of Donna M. Stewart, who died Tuesday, Oct. 25, 2016, will be received from 2 to 4 p.m. and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday at the Thompson-Miller Funeral Home, 124 E. North St., Butler.Funeral services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home with the Rev.
