Loretta A. Mrochek
Loretta A. Mrochek, 82, of Butler died Wednesday at Chicora Medical Center.
Born Feb. 27, 1936, in Butler, she was a daughter of the late Mario P. “Steamy” and Ilda Scuoteguazza Guintoli.
She was a graduate of Butler High School and a 1957 alumna of the Butler School of Nursing.
She earned her Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Slippery Rock University.
She was employed by Butler Memorial Hospital and the Butler VA Medical Center until 1997.
Loretta married Joseph Mrochek, also of Butler, on Feb. 15, 1958. They were married for 49 years.
She was a lifelong member of St. Michael the Archangel Roman Catholic Church.
She stayed active in the Butler Nursing Alumnae association, Sigma Theta Tau Honors Society, and the card club of the Nursing Class of 1957. She was also a member of the Red Hatters.
She is survived by three children, Joseph Mrochek and his wife Ellen, of Columbus, Ohio, Dr. Jeanine Wigton and her husband, David, of Butler, and Mrs. Jennifer Hartzel and her husband, Brian, of Hackettstown, N.J.; one brother, James Giuntoli of Hilton Head, S.C.; and one sister, Sylvia Enslen of Butler.
Loretta is also survived by five grandchildren, Rachael Frances and her husband, Benjamin, of Westlake, Ohio, Rennae and Rochelle Wigton of Butler, Joseph Hartzel of Hackettstown, N.J., and Jaret Mrochek of Columbus, Ohio.
Loretta was especially proud to have seen all six grandchildren start college and graduate school.
Loretta was preceded in death by her parents; and her husband, Joe, who passed away Oct. 10, 2007.
