Edward Brown
Edward Leroy Brown died Sunday, June 5, 2022, at his home.
He was the son of Naomi Pisor and Grover Brown of West Sunbury. He was born in Washington Township, Butler County.
He was married to Martha Taylor on Dec. 27, 1957, at West Unity Community Church in Murrinsville, Pa. They had five children. The surviving sons are Joseph Brown and his companion, Allura Southwood, and Dewayne Brown.
Edward was married a second time to Corrine Webb on Feb. 16, 1978, at Muddy Creek Presbyterian Church in Butler. His living stepchildren include, Darcee Gamble, Marcie and Dane Wiegand, Karen and Fred Sheakley, and Shawn Gamble and his companion, Ashley Jones.
Edward received an honorary diploma from Moniteau High School in West Sunbury. He was in the U.S. Air Force as an E-2 Class Airman, where he was a gunner on a B-29 Bomber. He had received a Purple Heart for his service in the Korean conflict.
He was a machinist and retired from Zimmerman & Jansen in Texas. Ed previously worked as a machinist for 18 years at Pullman Standard in Butler.
Ed was a previous member of East Butler Fire Company and Loyal Order of Moose. His hobbies included hunting, fishing and gardening.
Surviving are his sisters, Thelma Waterson, Eleanora Aiken, Edna Pearl and Albert Lengyel.
Edward’s grandchildren include Joseph and Shelly Brown, whose children are Asher and Thea Brown; Lucira Baldwin and three children, Sean, Michael and Alexa Baldwin; Joshua and Jason Keith; Destarte “Star” Brooks and their children, Courtney and Jeremy, and Cherika Ross and a daughter, Daylynn; and Katryna and Joshua Kang their twins boys and a daughter, Dane and Amy Wiegand Jr. and their children, Garrett and Asher Wiegand, Danielle and Brian Polerick and their three children, Emory, Evan and Elle Polerick; and Jonathan Wiegand; Jennifer and Daniel Obrien and their daughter, McKenna Obrien, and Jackie and Robert Shorts and their daughter, Delaney Shorts; Nichole and Patrick Kerr and their two children, Mason and Memphis Kerr; and Bentley Gamble.
Preceding him in death were his brother, Lannie Brown; his daughters, Venise Keith and her son, Jacob Keith, Patricia Ross and Kathy Brown; and his stepson, Darrell Gamble.
BROWN — The memorial service for Edward Leroy Brown, who died Sunday, June 5, 2022, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at Unionville Firehall with dinner to follow.
He will be interred at a later date in the West Sunbury Union Cemetery in West Sunbury.
