Ada Rose Mueller

Ada Rose Mueller, of Grove City, passed peacefully at home on Saturday evening, Dec. 26, 2020. She was 94.

Ada Rose was born Dec. 3, 1926, in Grove City, to David Stanton and Mary Luella (Giebner) Peden.

She married Bertram A. Mueller on Aug. 29, 1947. He preceded her in death on Sept. 4, 2008.

Ada Rose grew up in Grove City, and graduated from Grove City High School.

After raising nine children, she resumed her education at Grove City College, received a B.A. in Music, and subsequently a teaching certificate in elementary education from Slippery Rock State College.

She taught mostly Kindergarten in the Karns City Area School District for 12 years, and gave piano lessons, directed church choirs and played the organ for church services during the 33 years that the family lived in Bruin. While living in Bruin, she and her family were active in the Bruin (Martinsburg) Presbyterian Church.

After retirement, she and her husband, Bert, moved back to Grove City, rejoined East Main Presbyterian Church, and became active with choir and Sunday school. Ada Rose participated with the Women’s Association and other Bible studies within the church.

She was an active member of Butler County Music Club for many years.

Ada Rose loved to entertain, and was a gracious and welcoming hostess. Her favorite “guests” were her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She desired that everyone come together for fellowship and singing. She enjoyed playing the piano and singing duets with her husband. Her faith in her Lord Jesus, sustained her through many trials, and her greatest desire was that her children and grandchildren would know Him as Lord and Savior.

She is survived by nine children, Janet Corbett and husband, James, of Grove City, Frederick Mueller and wife, Kathy, of Grove City, Margaret “Peggy” Juliano and husband, Paul, of Plano, Texas, Carl Mueller and wife, Laurie, of Bruin, Mary Ridley and husband, Paul, of Bradford, Dr. James Mueller and wife, Dr. Rene Mueller, of Isle of Palms, S.C., Richard Mueller and wife, Lisa, of Erie, Dr. Robert Mueller and wife, Dr. Katherine Mueller, of Grove City, and John Mueller and wife, Nancy, of East Butler; 45 grandchildren; and 59 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a grandchild, Michael Mueller; and her five siblings, Sylvia Story, Richard Peden, Norma Gras, Lois Mary “Polly” Mossman and Janet Vogan.

MUELLER — Arrangements for Ada Rose Mueller, who died Saturday, Dec. 26, 2020, are under the direction of Cunningham Funeral Home, Grove City.

A memorial service will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday at East Main Presbyterian Church, Grove City.
