Wayne K. “Bear” Lawrence, 80, of Butler, passed away Friday, June 10, 2022, at his home.

He was born Nov. 22, 1941, in Butler, and was the son of the late King A. Lawrence and Doris (Shearer) Lawrence.

Wayne worked as an accounting clerk for Pullman Standard, and in retirement, worked at Butler Auto Auction. He also owned and operated Wayne’s Mower Repair. He was an active member for many years with the Unionville Fire Department.

He enjoyed hunting and watching racing and sports on TV.

Surviving are his wife of almost 60 years, Shirley M. (Brown) Lawrence; three children, Lorraine (Kevin) Shaffer of Slippery Rock, Dawn (John) Link of West Sunbury, and Dean (Christena) Lawrence of Lakewood Ranch, Fla.; seven grandchildren, Joshua Shaffer, Scott Shaffer, Leanna Jewart, Chet Link, Courtney Plyler, Cierra Lawrence and Madyline Lawrence; and nine great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Kenneth Wayne Lawrence.

LAWRENCE — Private services for Wayne K. “Bear” Lawrence, who died Friday, June 10, 2022, were held and led by his grandson, Pastor Scott Shaffer.

Burial was held in Greenlawn Burial Estates in Butler.
