Fire destroys storage trailer in Clinton Twp.
CLINTON TWP — A fire early this morning destroyed a trailer near the intersection of Wylie Road and Saxonburg Boulevard.
Chief Gary Cooper of the Saxonburg Volunteer Fire Company said this morning the trailer was a mobile home used to store miscellaneous items.
The fire also consumed a nearby shed before crews were called to the scene. No one was injured.
Cooper said a firefighter who lives within a mile of the property arrived a few minutes after the 2 a.m. 911 call.
"When he responded to the scene, it was fully involved," Cooper said.
Richard Grigorovich, the property owner, was unaware the fire broke out because his house is farther down the lane serving as his driveway.
Firefighters took about two hours to douse the flames.
"It probably took longer than usual because it was a small lane to access," Cooper said.
He said the cause of the blaze is under investigation.
The Middlesex and West Deer 1 volunteer fire departments assisted Saxonburg at the scene.
Crews cleared the scene at 4:16 a.m.
