Darlie Jean Davis Betro

Darlie Jean Davis Betro, 70, of Butler lost her seven-year courageous battle with ovarian cancer on Wednesday.

Born Aug. 25, 1947, in Connersville, Ind., she was the daughter of the late Thomas Jay Davis and is survived by her mother, Florence Weitzel of Butler.

Catholic by faith, Darlie attended the Our Saviour Catholic Church in Cocoa Beach, Fla., where she and her husband, Joe, spent over 10 years as snowbirds.

Darlie worked at several companies including Bobbie Brooks, Quality Insurance, the Butler School District, Altmeyer's and TrueServ (American Hardware).

She was a member of the Italian Fraternal Society and Curves in Lyndora.

Darlie enjoyed traveling, cycling, golf, shopping, flower gardening, bird watching and especially loved cats.

She will be dearly missed and lovingly remembered by many friends and family.

Darlie is survived by her beloved husband of 27 years, Joseph A. Betro Jr., whom she married July 27, 1990; a son, Kenneth L. (Shannon) Wigton Jr. of Cabot; two stepsons, Joe (Tracy) Betro of Butler and Nick (Allison) Betro of Portsmouth, Va.; four grandchildren, Alyssa, Sam and Gia Betro, and Danialle DiGiacomo; two great-grandchildren, Allison and Alex; two brothers, Danny (Marilyn) Weitzel of Las Vegas, Nev., and Tom (Pam) Davis of Liberty, Ind.; and several nieces and nephews.

BETRO — Friends of Darlie Jean Davis Betro, who died Wednesday, Sept. 27, 2017, will be received from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday at Boylan Funeral Home & Cremation Center, 856 Evans City Road, Renfrew. A memorial Mass will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Andrew Roman Catholic Church, 1660 N. Main St. Ext., Butler, with the Rev. Nicholas J.
