Gordon Oesterling
Gordon Lee Oesterling, 58, of Prospect, passed away with his family by his side on Sunday evening, June 12, 2022, at UPMC Passavant Hospital.
Born July 21, 1963, in Butler, he was the son of the late Richard Ford and Norma Jean Dietz Oesterling.
He graduated from Slippery Rock High School in 1982.
Gordon will be remembered as a hard worker. He was employed in sales, and then as a diesel mechanic.
Gordon had a big personality that lit up a room. He loved telling stories and making people laugh. He found pleasure in spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was an outdoorsman who loved hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed gardening, cooking and his Daily Bread Devotions.
He is survived by his children, Benjamin (Kelly) Oesterling of Portersville, Erica (Eric) Foust of Slippery Rock, and Katelyn Oesterling of Butler; his eight grandchildren, Jocelyn, Olivia, Emily, Abigail, Joshua, Aliyah, Asher and Aubrielle; his siblings, Edward Oesterling of Butler, and Cris (Wally) Kendle of Prospect; and many nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Richard “Rick” Oesterling.
OESTERLING — Family and friends of Gordon Lee Oesterling, who died Sunday, June 12, 2022, will be received from 10 to 11 a.m. Saturday with a memorial service following at 11 a.m. at Mount Zion Baptist Church, 900 Mount Zion Church Road, Prospect, with his son-in-law, Pastor Eric Foust of Slippery Rock Baptist Church, officiating.
Cremation services were entrusted to RAISLEY FUNERAL HOME AND CREMATION SERVICES, 387 Main St., Prospect.
