Rev. Anselm Orlosky

The Very Rev. Anselm Orlosky, 93, passed away Tuesday at the Chicora Medical Center.

Born Oct. 13, 1922, in Nesquehoning, Pa., he was a son of the late George and Anna Orlosky.

He professed his Monastic Vows on June 16, 1947. He was ordained a priest Feb. 2, 1953. In 1947, he was one of 14 Monks from St. Procopius Abbey, Lisle, Ill., last of the founding Fathers of Holy Trinity Monastery. He was elected Hegumen on Oct. 4, 1984.

Surviving are a sister, Irene Hubal, and nieces and nephews, William and Joann Nalesnik of Pennsylvania and Ynonne Nalesnik of New Orleans.

ORLOSKY — The Very Rev. Anselm Orlosky, who died Tuesday, May 17, 2016, will lay in state from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Monday and from 1 to 3 and 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at St. John the Baptist Byzantine Catholic Church, 105 Kohler Ave., Lyndora, Pa., 16045. The funeral liturgy will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday with Arch Bishop Metropolitan William Skurla of Pittsburgh to officiate. Interment will follow at Mount St. Macrina Cemetery in Uniontown, Pa.Parastas services will be at 7 p.m. both Monday and Tuesday.Arrangements are by the Geibel Funeral Home, 201 E. Cunningham St.
