CCR to buy Consolidated Communications building in Butler

The Center for Community Resources, a Butler nonprofit human services agency, will now buy a smaller, less costly building than originally planned.

Mike Robb, CCR executive director, said in an interview his agency is buying the Consolidated Communications building on South Main Street.

The Consolidated building is one door away from the Holly Pointe Building, where CCR currently rents space and what the agency originally was set to buy.

Orlando Pride III, the Holly Pointe owner, wanted $2.5 million for his 51,000-square-foot building while Consolidated sought $450,000 for its 18,000-square-foot structure.

"It's just a better fit for us overall," Robb said.

CCR will use part of $500,000 in federal and state funds to buy the building.

The sale closing is set to occur by June 25.

Robb said all the CCR and Alliance for Nonprofit Resources offices in Holly Pointe will be relocated to the new site by late September. ANR is a sister organization to CCR.

The CCR and ANR offices at the Sunnyview complex in Butler Township will remain there.
