Ruth A. (Kimmel) Leddy

Ruth A. (Kimmel) Leddy of Gibsonia, affectionately known as “Cookie,” suddenly passed away at her home Monday.

Ruth was retired as an executive secretary for H.J. Heinz Co. where she worked for over 26 years and was awarded the Heinz Foundation Award for community service. Additionally, she was an EMT for over 14 years with West Deer EMS and remained an active volunteer with the Heinz Foundation until 2017.

Ruth loved gardening and plants and had a love of all animals, especially feeding birds and wildlife in her yard.

Cookie was a selfless person who always put others before herself and most of all, she loved being with her husband, children and beloved grandchildren.

Cookie was the beloved wife for 60 years of John “Jack” Leddy; loving mother of Deb (Bob) Serafini, Gail (George) Bochek Smith, Colleen (Greg) Paff and John (Cathy Fielding) Leddy; sister of the late Francis “Butch” Kimmel and Cecelia “Sally” Cancilla; dear grandmother of Kelly and Bob Serafini, Dustin, Kimberlee and Kylee Bochek, and Lucas and Zachary Paff; and her many nieces and nephews.

LEDDY — Memorial services for Ruth A. “Cookie” (Kimmel) Leddy, who died Monday, Jan. 8, 2018, will be held at Schellhaas Funeral Home and Cremation Services, 5864 Heckert Road, Bakerstown.
