Woman gets strict probation for stealing $120,000

The Lancaster Township woman who stole more than $120,000 from her employer and friend was sentenced Thursday to four years of intermediate punishment, including nine months of house arrest.

Brenda Lee Miller, 38, will serve a year of probation following the intermediate punishment, which is stricter than standard probation.

Under a plea agreement approved by Judge Tim McCune, Miller also will serve 100 hours of community service.

Miller was initially charged with four counts of theft and one count of forgery. As part of the plea agreement, two of the theft counts were dropped.

Miller was sentenced for stealing more than $124,000 from Suzanne Lutz’s business Stratford Settlements of Zelienople between 2008 and 2011.
