Boy hurt in accident with SUV in city
A SUV struck a boy crossing East Jefferson Street on Friday afternoon, causing him unknown injuries.
No information was released about the boy, but elementary-school aged children were walking at the intersection of Monroe Street and East Jefferson Street, where the accident occurred about 2:50 p.m.
An ambulance with the boy inside left with its lights and siren on.
Butler police said the boy was crossing Jefferson Street when the accident occurred, but it initially was unclear about how the accident occurred.
The female driver of the SUV was unhurt.
The Butler fire department and Butler Ambulance also responded to the scene, where a fire truck blocked westbound traffic on East Jefferson Street for about 15 minutes.
