ELKINS, W.Va. — Authorities say three deputy U.S. marshals have been shot while serving a warrant in West Virginia.

U.S. Marshals spokeswoman Lynzey Donahue says in a statement the marshals from the state’s northern district were struck by shotgun blasts at about 8:30 a.m. today as they approached a home in Elkins.

All three deputy marshals were transported to a hospital by helicopter.

Donahue says their conditions were not immediately known. No other information about the shootings was immediately available.
