Sacco

James Peter “Jim” Sacco, 76, of Coatesville, Pa., passed away June 8, 2022.

He was the loving husband of Jean F. (Ross) Sacco, having shared 54 years of marriage.

Born in Butler, on Sept. 14, 1945, he was the son of the late Carl E. and Roberta J. (Hockenberry) Sacco.

Jim graduated from Butler High School in 1963. He was a gymnast. He was inducted into the Butler County Hall of Fame in April 2008. He graduated from The University of Pittsburgh in 1967 with his B.S., and his MBA from West Chester University 1988. He then worked for Lukens Steel, G.O. Carlson and Evraz Claymont Steel, retiring after 44 years.

He enjoyed in bowling, sailing, and collecting rocks, gems and fossils.

Surviving, in addition to his wife, Jean, are his children, Corinne P. News (John) and Erik K. Sacco; his grandchildren, Easton, Jack and Sydney; and his brothers, C. Daniel Sacco and Darrell R. Sacco.

He was preceded in death by his brother, Edward C. Sacco.

SACCO — A viewing for James Peter “Jim” Sacco, who died Wednesday, June 8, 2022, will be held from 11:45 a.m. until 12:45 p.m. Tuesday at the JAMES TERRY FUNERAL HOME, 736 E. Lancaster Ave., Downingtown, Pa.

A funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made in Jim’s memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, or the American Heart Association.
