Spring turkey hunting opened this past Saturday with youth hunting. The statewide season opens for adults Saturday.

Butler County is divided into three separate Wildlife Management Units (WMUs): 1A (western Butler County), 2D (eastern Butler County) and 2B (southern tip of Butler County).

Hunting hours April 27 through May 11 are restricted to between 30 minutes before sunrise until noon. Hunters are to be out of the woods by 1 p.m.

From May 13 through the end of the month, hunting hours are from 30 minutes before sunrise until 30 minutes after sunset.
