NEW CASTLE — An autopsy is planned on the body of a woman discovered along a rural Lawrence County road by a police officer who was assisting the driver of a disabled truck.

The body was found about 5 p.m. Wednesday along County Line Road in Shenango Township.

State police said it appears the body had been there for at least a day before the township officer discovered it.

Authorities have not released the woman's identity or any preliminary indication of how she died.
