Administrators to retire from South Butler School District

JEFFERSON TWP — Three top administrators in the South Butler School District have accepted early retirement incentives, including an undisclosed lump sum payment.

Two of their salaries are included in the district’s 2012-13 proposed $33 million budget expected to be adopted May 9. One principal will not be replaced.

The retirements were announced Wednesday night at a school board meeting.

The two principals who will retire in August are Thomas Tibbott at the intermediate elementary school and Uber Adams, primary school assistant principal.

In addition, Vincent Mariotti, director of special services and the school psychologist, will work for another year at the request of the school board. He’ll retire in August 2013 with the benefits of the early retirement package.

Five teachers also are retiring and will not be replaced. They include three elementary teachers, a middle school teacher and a high school teacher.

Three maintenance staff workers will not be replaced, and the district has reduced its security guard staff. It has one full and one part-time guard now, instead of two full-time guards.
