Robert J. 'AJ' Fritz

Robert J. "AJ" Fritz, 60, of Renfrew died peacefully Sunday after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born Jan. 25, 1950, in Butler, he was the son of the late Charles and Genevieve (Rohr) Fritz.

Mr. Fritz was a U.S. Army veteran, serving in the Vietnam War.

He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 66 and was a retired heavy equipment mechanic for the Mashuda Corp. He was known as a jack-of-all-trades mechanic.

In his earlier years, he raced dirt bikes, and he always was an avid motorcycle enthusiast. Bob owned late model race cars, racing them at Lernerville Speedway and other race tracks.

He enjoyed spending time with his grandson.

He is survived by his daughter, Amber J. Caldwell and her husband, James II, of Evans City; and two sisters, Charlene Sedoris and her husband, Robert, of Renfrew with whom he made his home, and Margaret "Peg" Dufford of Valencia. Also surviving are his grandson, Roman Caldwell; four nieces; and three nephews.

<B>FRITZ</B> — Friends of Robert J. "AJ" Fritz, who died Sunday, July 11, 2010, will be received from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Wednesday at the <B>Boylan Funeral Home</B> of Evans City, 116 E. Main St., Evans City.
