Gerald Magee
Gerald Wayne “Jerry” Magee, 86, Portersville, died June 2, 2022, at Maple Valley Personal Care Home in Indiana, Pa.
Jerry was the son of the late Harold and Dorothy (Gallagher) Magee, and was born May 10, 1936, in Portersville.
Jerry was a 1954 graduate of Lincoln High School in Ellwood City.
He was a lifelong member of Mountville Presbyterian Church serving as an elder and Sunday school teacher.
Jerry was a member of the Teamsters Union. He started his career as a driver of a tractor-trailer and eventually became an owner-operator, later switching to a driving tour bus for Butler Motor Transit. Jerry loved entertaining the guests and had many delightful stories to tell.
He enjoyed hunting, and teaching his children and grandchildren to hunt, especially about gun safety.
Jerry is survived by his children, Theresa Sweithelm of Indiana, Pa., Paul (Sherry) Magee of New Castle, Jodi (Stephen) Straub of Maidens, Va., and Patrick Magee of Butler.
He is also survived by his grandchildren, Megan Smith, Ryan Sweithelm, Sean Sweithelm, Bethany Ruhlman, Devin Straub, John Magee and Sherilynn Magee.
In addition to his parents, Harold and Dorothy (Gallagher) Magee, he was preceded in death by his wife, Margaret Frances (Lindey) Magee; and his five siblings, Ruth, George, Roy, Edith and Edna.
MAGEE — A memorial service for Gerald Wayne “Jerry” Magee, who died Thursday, June 2, 2022, will be held at a later date at Mountville Presbyterian Church, Portersville.
