Homeless man rescued from Pa. storage unit fire
PITTSBURGH — Officials are investigating the cause of a fire this morning at an indoor storage facility in Pittsburgh where a homeless man had to be rescued.
Firefighters were called to the STORExpress location on the city's South Side about 4 a.m.
Apparently, the homeless man got into the facility and was spending the night there when the fire broke out. That's when the man called 911 on his cell phone to report the fire.
Firefighters had to break through the window of an upper floor to get the man out, but he was not harmed.
Authorities have not identified the man nor said if he was involved in the fire or will otherwise face charges.
