A deer struck a school van this morning, shattering the driver's side window.

The WL Roenigk Inc. van was traveling on north on South Pike Road in Buffalo Township near Route 28 at approximately 9:15 this morning when a deer ran across the road, directly into the driver's side door.

The woman driver was treated at the scene for minor injuries — cuts and scrapes from the broken glass.

No children were on board, as the van was headed back to the garage, according to John Risch, dispatcher and company spokesperson for WL Roenigk. He would not say what school the bus was returning from at that time.

Lt. Tim Derringer of Buffalo Township Police, who responded to the accident, said traffic was only held up for about ten minutes. The van was driven away.
