PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — The United Nations says a Spanish military helicopter has crashed in rugged terrain in Haiti and that the fate of the four aboard is not yet known.

U.N. spokesman George Ola-Davies says a Chilean U.N. helicopter could not land at the scene about 30 miles southeast of the Haitian capital because of the rough terrain. It could not detect any survivors.

Ola-Davies says the crash occurred about 10:30 a.m. on Friday.
