Wife won't be charged in suspect's shooting
INDIANA, Pa. — A prosecutor says he has no plans to charge a Western Pennsylvania woman who wounded her estranged husband after he allegedly fatally shot her father then came after her with a gun.
Online court records don’t list an attorney for 32-year-old Shaun Fairman who is charged with criminal homicide and other crimes during the violent domestic dispute at his estranged wife’s home about 1 a.m. Sunday in North Mahoning Township.
That’s where Indiana County District Attorney Patrick Dougherty says Fairman shot 55-year-old Richard Shotts when he tried to intervene in a dispute between Fairman and Shotts’ daughter, Jessica Fairman.
Shaun Fairman was barred from seeing the woman and their children under a protection-from-abuse order. Police say she shot him in the arm, ending the confrontation, when he tried to enter a bedroom where she was hiding.
