I can’t believe it’s been a year

Since God called you home

Seems like only yesterday

We realized that you’re gone.

The pain of losing you remains

Deep within my heart

The memories of how we lived

I cherish every part.

Though they say that time will heal

The grief that still remains

It sure seems like forever

Till I can see you again.

One day at a time they say

Is best as you go on

I try to do that very thing

And accept that you are gone.

God knew of your suffering

And took you to final rest.

His plan from the beginning

Was to only take the best

Someday soon He’ll call us home

To his mansion beyond the blue

Where we will see Him face to face

And have a sweet reunion with you
