John Wesley Dexter
John Wesley Dexter, 57, of Butler went to be with the Lord early Sunday morning shortly after his arrival in the emergency room at Butler Memorial Hospital.
John was born on Sept. 23, 1955, in Nampa, Idaho. He was the son of Leona Show (Dexter) and the late Dewey Charles Dexter.
Mr. Dexter was a Protestant, and as a youth, he had attended the Chicora United Methodist Church. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He had been employed as a carpenter for most of his life. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served aboard an aircraft carrier during the Vietnam War era.
John is survived by his mother, Leona Show of Butler; two sisters, Judy E. Voltz and her husband, John, of Erie and Paula L. Luchkiw and her fiancé, Tim Robison, both of Sarver; five nieces and nephews, Nathan and his wife, Daphane, Jessica and her husband, Erik, Lauren, Hannah and David; a great niece and nephew, Juliet and Noah; as well as a number of aunts, uncles, and cousins.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his maternal and paternal grandparents.
DEXTER — Friends of John Wesley Dexter, who died Sunday, Nov. 25, 2012, will be received at the Faith Fellowship Alliance Church, 200 Faith Way-Fared Drive, Butler, from noon to 1 p.m. Wednesday. A memorial service will follow at the church at 1 p.m. with the church pastor, the Rev. Richard Jenks, officiating.
