CRANBERRY TWP — The executive director of the new THE CHAMBER of Commerce, the soon-to-be merged Cranberry Area and Northern Allegheny County chambers of commerce, has been picked.

The transition board named Susan Balla, a former Cranberry chamber board chairwoman, to that position.

She is the business development officer at Gateway Bank, and has more than 20 years of banking experience. She was formerly a vice president/business development officer at NexTier Bank.

Transition board President Gary Basilone said the board received 127 resumes. Those were cut down to 10 candidates before the board chose Balla.

The two chambers officially will merge into one in January.

THE CHAMBER plans to welcome its new executive director and present the new chamber name and logo at A Toast of the Chamber on Nov. 12 at the Treesdale Community Center.
