SR seeks super shot
SLIPPERY ROCK — Since Slippery Rock celebrates its 175th anniversary this year, the borough’s annual events will have some added “flair,” said borough council president Regina Greenwald.
The borough kicked off its celebration in April, and on June 1 began a photo contest that will run through Aug. 31.
The contest is to find a photograph that “best exemplifies” the “Village of Slippery Rock.”
On July 7 the borough’s parks and recreation department will host a Photo Scavenger Hunt at Gateway Park, behind the former First National Bank at the corner of Elm and New Castle streets.
Clues will lead participants to iconic Slippery Rock artifacts of the past and present, where they can capture photographs on their cell phone or camera.
From Aug. 1 to 3 the park will host a Horror Camp for children from grades six through 12
On Aug. 6, North Country Brewing on Main Street will host its annual Brewfest event from noon to 4 p.m. Tickets are required to attend.
