Pitt women end season with 35th consecutive Big East loss
HARTFORD, Conn. — Katie Young scored 11 points and Katherine Plouffe added 10 points and grabbed nine rebounds as 10th-seeded Marquette beat 15th-seed Pittsburgh 66-43 in the first round of the Big East tournament.
It was the fourth straight win for the Golden Eagles (16-14), who will face DePaul in the second round on Saturday.
Brianna Kiesel had 13 points for Pittsburgh (9-21), which finished the season on a 17-game losing streak. The Panthers have not won a conference game since the 2011 tournament, a string of 35 consecutive games.
